We will begin our excursion from the place where the city was started on the right bank of the Dnieper River. It was on the hill at a Dnieper curve. In XIX – beginning of XX centuries the citizens of Yekaterinoslav called it “a Cathedral mountain” because there  was a Transfiguration Cathedral on the top of it and at the same time it was a place where  Yekaterinoslav city was based in 1787.

Karl Marx Street (downhill):
- Mining Academy – 1903, by architect Beketov,  Karl Marx Avenue 19
- Chemical corps of the University – 1890 ,by architect L. Gagen, Karl Marx Avenue 36
- City Government - 1901, Vienna Renaissance architect. D. Skorobogatov, Karl Marx Avenue 47 ( now – school of culture)
- The Khrenikov’s House - 1910-13, engineer Khrennikov, architect P. Fetisov, Ukrainian modernism - the Grand Hotel Ukraine. Under the roof you can see a picture of the main element of  Zaporozhian emblem - Zaporozets with a musket and a sword.
- The Governor's House - 1840-50, Lenin Avenue 14.
- Hotel “Astoria” - 1913, modern – Here at various times there were headquarters of the Military
Revolutionary Committee of Bolsheviks, N. Makhno’s and the White Guard forces, and in the main post office building  there were haydamak troops.
- The Opera House

The Monastery Island.
